Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians: Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year!!!
At each of our school sites, we provide school based counseling for students both individuals and groups. We also support parents/guardians with regards to school based counseling concerns and situations that might come up with their student or child. Check in and crisis counseling are also included in this service. Counseling support and services are available at each of our school sites, Monday through Friday during regular school hours.
School counseling is provided by the district counselors, associate therapists/counselor trainees under the direct supervision of an experienced school counselor and Licensed Marriage, Family Therapist (MFT), Lionel C. Cooper. They are postgraduate or graduate level students working on accruing the hours of experience they need to become licensed by the Board of Behavioral Science with the state of California. If you are interested in having your child receive school based counseling, please contact your child’s teacher or ask to speak with a counseling team member at your school site.
In the event that school based counseling is not available or appropriate, a member of the counseling team will provide at least three referrals for your child and/or family. In addition, families can look for a variety of resources with Sonoma County 211: www.211Sonoma.org or call 707-565-2108. Resources regarding parenting classes, family support, mental health, crisis response, housing/shelter, and non-profit services are available through this program.
Should you have further questions, comments, concerns, or you would like additional resources and referrals, please do not hesitate to contact one of our counseling team members at your school site.
